You Can’t Be Anxious & Grateful At The Same Time

Happy weekend y’all! I am more than relieved the weekend has finally arrived. This week, as I mentioned, we got hit with some serious temperature changes that has left a lot of folks sick with allergies and sinus headaches. I know it hit me because yesterday I woke up with the worst sinus headache known to man. I took pain relief, that didn’t work. Finally I took some allergy relief and once it kicked in after an hour, I felt so much better.

But I’m not here to talk about that. Mainly, I thought why don’t I do a thankful post. It’s times like these when you reflect on your blessings that really makes the bad look like a blip on the radar. So let’s get to it:

Getting the Start Today journal! Y’all, I don’t know if you know but last Friday it was almost impossible to order the Start Today journal due to heavy online traffic. I was determined though to get my hands on this journal that Rachel Hollis created. Even though her and her team anticipated ginormous amounts of people trying to buy said journals, they had no idea the site would end up crashing. Which, of course, I had a feeling that was going to happen because who wouldn’t want to get these beautiful journals that will change your life? Well, yesterday I got an email letting me know that my order did indeed go through and they will ship my journal in a few days. I got the Tortoise shell one, which I had my eye on because it’s so cute!

Right before I got through, a ladybug landed on me out of nowhere. So I think she had something to do with my good fortune. Funny story: I clicked “Add to cart” so many times that when I finally got through to checkout, it said I had 8 journals in my cart, LOL. I updated that so quick to just one! Thank you very much.

Finally getting my mini photo-shoot pics. The picture you see above was taken last month when I attended this event in downtown Austin. Free mini photo-shoot and I made sure to take advantage of it. This was taken before I got my haircut so it’s interesting to see myself with longer hair when now, it’s a bit shorter.

Getting my Halloween nails this weekend. Yes, I seriously can’t wait to get my nails done Halloweens style this weekend. Still struggling to find a good nail salon here in Austin so for now I settle for whatever salon doesn’t make me wait a whole hour before getting service.

Spending quality time with my sister. God willing, she’s coming from Dallas to visit me. We are going to paint Austin! Starting with birthday dinner, movie and whatever other shenanigans we get into. Can’t wait.

Working out this weekend. This weather change threw me off that I neglected my workouts, but this weekend I’m going to get back on the horse.

This turned out to be more of what my plans are for the weekend, but those are good things to be thankful for and looking forward to right? Hope y’all have a great weekend!

What Rachel Hollis says is so true: You can’t be grateful and anxious at the same time. It’s impossible. So when you’re feeling anxious, jot down ten things you’re thankful for. You’re welcome.
