Happy Monday! It’s the beginning of a new week and I’m excited because so many changes are happening this month. For starters, I start a new job today with a start up company and even though it’s scary to switch jobs, I know this is the best decision I had to make for me. Even though I was happy with my previous job, the pay wasn’t cutting it and at the end of the day, it all boils down to being able to pay them bills.
I finally found a new place to live! Moving next week and I can’t wait. It’s actually a house, thank God. Living in apartments is neat because of all the amenities, but the peace and quiet is priceless to me. It’s a two story house with washer and dryer, which I do not have at the moment and it’s a pain. Still paying the same price and while I have roommates, I still have my own room and bathroom. The only thing is is that I’ll be living outside of Austin in the suburbs of Round Rock. I’m a bit hesitant because ever since I moved to Austin, I’ve always been close to downtown so it’s going to be an adjustment. At least my new job is close to downtown so I’ll still be in the area I’m familiar with.
My family is doing well and I’m thankful I got to spend time with them during this time of great loss and grief. Today my step uncle is being buried in the National Cemetery because he served in the Army (which I had no idea by the way). The wake and funeral were lovely and I felt closer to my family than ever. My mom even sang at the funeral and she did an amazing job. Hearing stories about my uncle were really astonishing and heartwarming. I wish I had more time to get to know him better. At least now I know a lot more about him and I’m thankful that he was in my life. Seeing the Dallas Sheriff department line up and wait for us at the service really brought tears to my eyes, I was so moved.
What y’all been up to lately?
