It’s Finally Fall Y’all

Yesterday the temperature dropped like free fall – it went from 84 degrees to 44 degrees. Luckily for me, I was dressed properly because the first thing I do in the morning is walk Monroe. Now I feel justified in wearing sweaters because the weather is perfect and cold enough to not look crazy wearing fall clothes.

Bring on the sweaters, scarves, comfy socks, beanies, cute boots, cuddling with blankets, the works.

Also, glad that I picked up some pumpkin soup, pumpkin puree and had pumpkin creamer in stock. If you don’t like pumpkin, that’s fine too. I’m just being a basic bitch right now. Don’t judge me.

Yesterday my baby sis turned 21. Still pinching myself because it felt like yesterday when I was holding her as a newborn. So happy that she’s coming to visit me this weekend so we can celebrate her birthday as well as mine. My birthday usually falls on the last weekend of Halloween, so I celebrate it around the 20th so that my friends can still celebrate and not have to choose between Halloween parties or my birthday. No hard feelings though, it’s like having a birthday around the 4th of July or Christmas.

Living in a new city is also weird sometimes. Especially when my bestie Roman moved away to Corpus. I’m pretty much a lone wolf out here, but I’m glad that my sister can make it. I hope I’m able to survive her birthday shenanigans because I don’t really drink that much anymore. I may just end up being her DD.

So later this week, I’m planning on getting fireplace essentials and light it up, literally. For the first time ever, I have a fireplace in my apartment. Hoping the checklist goes well so that breaking in the fireplace will go seamlessly. I may even make s’mores. Do they have sugarfree s’mores, I wonder.

There are 2 weeks left before I start writing my novel for NaNoWriMo. I’m getting a little anxious. Part of me wanted to scrap the idea I had, then I decided to stick to it to see what it transforms into. It’s like having an inner battle. Or having a little Bella on my shoulder trying to implant doubt and criticism. We are our own worst critic so this is no different.

Recently started following authors and new writers on social media. It’s been so encouraging seeing their posts and some are so relatable, it’s scary yet refreshing. I will share in an upcoming post which ones I’m following in case you are curious to see what goes on in authors’ worlds. If you’re following some authors already, feel free to share in the comments.

Oh yeah and I’m definitely going to see the new Lady Gaga movie. I already cried listening to the soundtrack, it’s amazing. Has anyone seen it?

PS. I had to rewrite this post because once I was finished the first time, WordPress logged me out and didn’t save any of it. So I had to rewrite it from memory and I think I did a good job. The second time around the words came out better and less scrambled than the first time. Food for thought.

How are you welcoming the new fall season?
