Halloween Confessions

Oh dear, it’s Halloween. One of my favorite days in October. I wish I was dressing up, but I’m not. In the meantime, I will be over here with the Snapchat filters using the skull filters and what not. Are you dressing up? Now don’t roll your eyes when I say this, but I don’t watch scary movies.

I know, I know, how lame am I? Even though I do watch American Horror Story and The Walking Dead, I just can’t make myself watch horror. It started when I noticed I was getting nightmares and/or anxiety where I couldn’t go to sleep. And also, it started when I became single for the first time in years from my last long-term relationship. I had no one to comfort me. Boo-hoo.

Also, sometimes I sleep walk where I think someone is in my apartment. I think it’s gotten worse now that I live alone because when I lived with roommates, I would sleep like a baby. It happens when I’m under a lot of stress and last week I was pretty stressed and it happened once or twice.

Now, don’t think I’m over here walking out of the apartment like a zombie. It’s more where I open my eyes and I think I see something (could be my dream fading away as I open my eyes) and I abruptly get out of bed. One time I took out the battery and the lid off the back of my remote that was next to me and set it on my nightstand. The next day I saw the remote without the battery, looked around and found the lid and the battery on the nightstand. I kid you not, I do not remember doing that. But it must’ve been me that did it right? Who knows.

I’ve been meaning to go see a doctor about it, but it’s been on the back burner because I don’t think it will get worse where my life is in danger. I do want to get a Cloud Cam though so that I have footage if anything weird is going on. Maybe I can record myself to see what exactly it is that I’m doing when I’m asleep, LOL.

So I might be a little daring tonight and watch that scary Netflix series, The Haunting of Hill House or maybe The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Tomorrow is the start of NaNoWriMo and I’m completely freaking out y’all. I have been prepping all month long that I didn’t get a chance to read any of my library books. Tonight I’ll have to finally write out my outline and hope that the words will pour out of me because I have no idea how this process works.

I just need to write. Write until my fingers bleed. LOL Ok, maybe not. But what does come to mind is the excited look on Diane Lane’s face in Something’s Gotta Give where she gets her burst of creativity and her pen is in her mouth and her hair is everywhere. That will hopefully be me, along with tears and laughter as I go. If you haven’t watched Something’s Gotta Give, what are you still doing reading this? GO NOW and WATCH IT! It’s one of my favorite movies.

I leave you with one of my favorite costumes to date that I wore many Halloweens ago.

Happy Halloween!

This was when I had my mole, which I don’t anymore.

What about y’all? What spooky things are you doing for Halloween?
